Do you not feel like yourself? Do you struggle to enjoy some of your favorite activities? Are you more irritable and moody? Do you lack energy and motivation? If so, you may be experiencing depression. Perhaps you have experienced some physical symptoms of depression, such as headaches, body aches or fatigue, as well as irregular sleeping and eating patterns. It’s possible that you have recently experienced a painful loss, such as the death of a loved one or the end of a relationship or career, that has triggered your sadness. Do you worry that your irritability or withdrawn attitude is negatively affecting your relationships at home and at work? Do you wish you could start enjoying your life again and move forward with greater happiness, energy and resiliency? Reading this and starting therapy or medication may be the first step in reclaiming your life.
The effects of depression can seep into almost every area of your life. You may wake up in the morning feeling tired, heavy and unmotivated to start your day. When you get out of bed, you may dread your daily tasks and responsibilities and feel as though you are just going through the motions without really engaging in anything that you do. At work, your productivity may have drastically decreased because you think your job is pointless. You may have trouble focusing on the experience and people in front of you because you are consumed by negative thoughts. Maybe your loved ones have expressed worry about your well-being because you have distanced yourself or started to respond to them with irritation or even anger. You may wait all day to get back into bed, but when you finally do, you may struggle to fall asleep. No matter how hard you have tried to improve your thoughts and mood, you may still end up where you started.
Fortunately, there are many effective means for treating depression. For many people, taking first step and reaching out for help is the most challenging. I am more than happy to speak with you over the phone to help you determine if you are depressed and explore your optimal approach to treatment.
Depression is one of the most pervasive mental ailments in the US, appearing in many forms and at many different degrees of severity. Sometimes it is very clear to people that they are depressed, while for other’s it can be difficult to identify.
Unfortunately, individuals affected by depression often do not recognize their symptoms before they become severe. It’s very common for people to believe they are simply going through a tough time in their lives and they will soon feel like their old selves. However, waiting too long to professionally address depression may cause symptoms to spiral out of control and have a dramatic impact on your mental, physical and emotional well-being.
The good news is that no matter how severe your depression is, you can find help and hope through depression treatment. With individualized therapy sessions, you can regain happiness and feel connected to your loved ones again.
During safe, supportive and empowering depression treatment sessions, you and I will work together to identify the root causes and key symptoms of your depression. We will also develop an individualized plan that utilizes proven approaches in order to help you move forward in a more joyful and fulfilling life.
During sessions, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of treatment strategies tailored to your specific needs. We may work together to help you reframe your thought process to stop negative self-talk and encourage you to analyze the past, present and future in a more positive way. Through practicing mindfulness, you can start focusing on the present moment instead of recurring negative thoughts.
Depending on your specific symptoms, we may also incorporate other approaches to pull you out of the painful depths of your depression and help you start moving toward peace and happiness. My goal is to create a safe and accepting space where you can talk about difficult memories from your past as well as free yourself from the negative emotions holding you back from reaching your full potential and achieving your relationship, career and personal goals.
I will show you how to practice all of our depression treatment strategies outside of sessions so you can feel confident that you will be able to overcome future obstacles on your own. You can also develop effective communication skills to help you reestablish a connection with family members, loved ones and friends.
Even though you may feel overwhelmed with sadness, there is always hope for you to rediscover the joy in your life. Depression treatment sessions can provide you with the well-rounded and expert help you need to feel confident and ready to make positive changes in your life.
I think I may be able to dig myself out of my depression. Why would I need extra help?
Depression symptoms can be debilitating. Even if you can make some progress on your own, you still may struggle to create any lasting change. If you try and fail to overcome depression on your own, your negative emotions may become even more painful. By allowing a trained expert in depression to help you along the way, you can optimize your chances of feeling better faster. It is also important to note that even though your depression symptoms may be mild now, the longer you wait to seek treatment, the more difficult it may become to overcome your emotional pain.
I worry others will judge me for seeking treatment.
Even though depression is very common, many people still fear the social stigma of depression treatment. For your piece of mind, our sessions are completely confidential. This way, you can feel secure to share openly and honestly.
I don’t know if I will ever overcome my sadness. Will therapy sessions be worth the investment?
You can overcome depression. It’s possible that you have tried other methods to feel happier, such as reading self-help books, and ended up back where you started. Using my multifaceted and individualized approaches, you and I will work together to develop a treatment plan that best fits your needs, personality and hopes.
